Round the Clock (Sort of) Dining at Your Service
Disney Cruise Line offers complimentary room service 24-hours a day, with numerous gluten free options available throughout most of the day and night. While the full menu is available, guests will special dietary needs will want to call room service on their sailing to confirm when the allergy kitchen is operating. On our sailings over the past several years, the safe options for guests who are gluten free or have food allergies is not typically operational 24-hours a day. Some ships close their allergy kitchen at 10 or 11 p.m., so late night orders may not be an option.
Call Room Service for More Options & Current Operating Hours
On our 1st day, we call room service to confirm the ship’s allergy kitchen operating hours for room service and to discuss any potential options for modification, like gluten free pizza/flatbread, chicken tenders, etc. We make a note on our Smartphone to refer to when we make room service orders throughout our cruise.
Safe and Satisfying Menu Options
Disney's room service menu offers numerous items that can be modified or are naturally gluten free including:
Fresh salads with gluten free dressings
Soups
Modified sandwiches & burgers on GF bread
Chicken tenders
Pizzas/flatbreads
French fries (made in a dedicated fryer)
Chicken wings
Cheese plate
Desserts, like pre-packaged GF cookies, ice cream, and even Mickey Bars, are available through room service too.
Morning Wakeup with Continental Breakfast
One of our favorite things about room service is ordering the continental breakfast. This option is available for select times from 5 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. To order Room Service, you’ll need to fill out a room service request card (a door hanger card found typically in a drawer in your stateroom). Leave the card outside of your room prior to 3 a.m. before the scheduled delivery time.
Continental Breakfast can be Ordered by Calling Room Service Too!
If you forgot to order continental room service or to place the card outside of your door by 3 a.m., you can call Room Service directly in the morning between 7-10 a.m. to order continental breakfast. This can be helpful to do when you have special dietary needs and need to ask questions about options.
When you have a special dietary need, this process can feel a bit more daunting — particularly because the room service request card does not have GF or other special diets listed. Our personal method of ordering has been to confirm with room service in advance what options are available on our sailing (e.g. gluten free bread, donuts, muffins, etc.) and to write in gluten free & allergy notes on the card to ensure we are given safe items. We always confirm when food arrives that they options were prepared for our special dietary needs.

Gluten Free Room Service Made Easy
When it comes to room service dining, we really appreciate how much Disney Cruise Line goes above and beyond to make sure there are safe and tasty items that guests can order through their room service menu. The process is relatively easy to navigate and room service crew are always willing to work with you to find options that are fit your special dietary needs.
While products and options offered may vary across sailing (often due to supplies and products available), we have found delicious eats throughout any DCL itinerary we’ve taken and have had memorable meals from eating room service GF chicken tenders while sailing through the Alaska glaciers to hamburgers on our verandah while sailing through downtown Hamburg, Germany. Whatever way you choose to enjoy room service on your cruise is just a phone call away.
